Description

Jukebox follows right after Cat Power's well - received album, The Greatest. On this record, she teams up with Jim White, the Dirty Three drummer who supported her on Moon Pix, and Judah Bauer of the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Their accompaniment, though different from the smoothness of the Memphis old - timers on The Greatest, creates a dramatic backdrop for her seductive vocals. She offers a diverse range of covers, such as James Brown's 'Lost Someone' and Bob Dylan's 'I Believe in You'. There's also the original 'Song for Bobby', where she tells the story of her young crush on Dylan in conversational lyrics. The album wraps up with a cover of Joni Mitchell's 'Blue'. It comes as a black vinyl pressing in a gatefold sleeve, released by Matador in 2011. Reviewed by The Voice in 08/11.

Using this Cat Power vinyl LP is easy. Just place it on your turntable, gently drop the needle on the groove, and enjoy the music. When handling the vinyl, make sure your hands are clean to avoid getting fingerprints on it, which could affect the sound quality. After each use, carefully put the vinyl back into its gatefold sleeve to protect it from scratches. Store the LP in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. If the vinyl gets dirty, you can use a soft, anti - static record brush to gently clean it. That's all you need to do to keep your Cat Power's Jukebox vinyl in great shape and keep enjoying the amazing music.
