Description

Boogaloo Assassins' long - awaited debut, Old Love Dies Hard, offers six tracks of a unique blend of old - meets - new salsa, boogaloo, and Latin - soul. Inspired by the 1960s NYC latin music explosion, it reinterprets classic Latin dance music for today's dance floors. Standout singles include 'Mi Jeva' (featured in the film Celeste and Jesse Forever), 'No No No' (a fresh take on the blues/reggae classic), and 'Do You Wanna Dance', a fun mix of straight - latin - Boogaloo and Beach - Boys vibes. Recorded on analog tape at Killion Sound in LA, the album showcases the high - energy of a Boogaloo Assassins show. The three lead singers - Charles Farrar, Chiquis Lozoya, and Robert Mc Lachlan - bring different vocal styles. The rhythm and horn sections, with years of live gigging in Southern California, really shine. This is the only full - length album from the Los Angeles latin soul band, featuring a cover of Dawn Penn's 'No No No'. It comes on red & black marble colored vinyl, in a limited edition. Originally released in 2014, it's now re - issued by Nu - Tone Recordings in 2023.

Using this vinyl LP is easy. Just place it on your record player, gently drop the needle on the groove, and enjoy the music.
