It was recorded just five days after his Grammy - winning 1968 Montreux Jazz Festival live performance. It's the only studio album of this trio with bassist Eddie Gomez and drummer Jack DeJohnette. The liner notes feature new historical essays by jazz journalist Marc Myers and German jazz historian Friedhelm Schulz, interviews with Eddie Gomez, Jack DeJohnette and other musicians, plus rare, unpublished photos. The last Bill Evans release from Resonance, 2012's Live at Art D'Lugoff's Top of The Gate, sold over 30,000 copies globally.
