Big Red Machine is a great collaboration between Bon Iver's Justin Vernon and The National's Aaron Dessner. In 2008, they worked on a song 'Big Red Machine' for Dark Was The Night. Their 10 - year friendship led to this 10 - track album. Released on their new platform PEOPLE, it features many musicians like Lisa Hannigan, The Staves, etc. The music has lots of vocal layering and a mix of electronic - acoustic instruments, creating an eclectic and experimental sound.
