Description

Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and Thelonious Monk joined forces for this amazing studio album, first released in 1958 by Atlantic Records. It's a great collaboration between Blakey's Jazz Messengers and Monk on the piano. Blakey had supported Monk on different occasions in the previous decade, and Monk returned the favor here. At the time, Blakey was about to start a long - term deal with Blue Note, and Monk was with Riverside. After these recordings, Monk's fame grew. Atlantic released this album over a year later to take advantage of Monk's rising popularity. This deluxe 2LP edition has a full disc of rare alternate takes, comes in black double vinyl with mono sound, and is remastered from the original tapes. It includes a 12 - page booklet with liner notes, rare photos, and ephemera, along with printed inner sleeves. The album features Thelonious Monk on piano, Art Blakey on drums, Johnny Griffin on tenor sax, Bill Hardman on trumpet, and Spanky DeBrest on bass. Original release was in 1958, and it's re - issued by Atlantic in 2022.

Using this vinyl album is super easy. Just place it on your turntable, gently lower the needle, and enjoy the amazing jazz music. When handling the vinyl, make sure your hands are clean to avoid leaving fingerprints or dirt on it. Always store the album in a cool, dry place to prevent warping. After each use, put it back in its sleeve carefully to protect it from scratches. And don't forget to read the 12 - page booklet included with the album to learn more about the music and the artists.
