This Canadian quartet featuring Matthew Tavares on keys, Chester Hansen on bass, Alex Sowinski on drums, and Leland Whitty on saxophone is back with their most remarkable and ambitious project yet. After a great collaboration with Ghostface Killah on 'Sour Soul' in 2015, BBNG returns with their fourth full - length album, simply named 'IV'. It pushes jazz to a wide audience in a big way. Innovative Leisure described it well as sounding like a jam session in space among Can, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters, Weather Report, Arthur Russell, and MF DOOM, and we totally agree. This jazz is suitable for modern ears, being both easy to listen to and forward - thinking. Standout tracks include 'Time Moves Slow' with Sam Herring of Future Islands, 'Lavender' with Kaytranada from Montreal, 'Confessions Pt. 2' with Colin Stetson, and 'Hyssop of Love' with raps from Mick Jenkins.
