Michelle Zauner's breakthrough album! I first saw Japanese Breakfast in a 150-cap venue opening for Mitski in summer 2016. The intimate show was so engaging that it was clear both Mitski and Zauner were headed for bigger stages. Little did I know how successful they'd become. In Jubilee, Zauner fully unleashes her talent as a songwriter and performer. The songs are super catchy - the hook of 'Be Sweet' got stuck in my head right away. The orchestral chamber pop in tracks like 'Paprika', 'Tactics', 'Kokomo, IN', and 'Posing For Cars' is rich, moving, and brings to mind Secretly Group's greatest hits. If you can only have one Japanese Breakfast record, make it Jubilee. It comes on indie exclusive clear with yellow swirl colored vinyl, in a gatefold sleeve. You also get a digital download.
