The third album from Husker Du, 'Zen Arcade', was originally released in 1984. At its core, it's hardcore punk, but it also foreshadows future sounds. With more melodic guitar work and subtle influences from psychedelia and folk music, Husker Du broadened their sonic scope and laid the groundwork for post - hardcore and alternative rock.
