A highly anticipated collaboration between producer - composer Danger Mouse and Italian composer Daniele Luppi. 'Rome' took over five years to create. It features many of the surviving artists from classic 60s and 70s Ennio Morricone scores, along with contributions from Jack White and Norah Jones. This project is grand in scope. It combines Luppi's success as a composer and arranger, Danger Mouse's innovative work as a producer and composer, a love for vintage recording equipment, years of orchestral experience, and the contrasting vocals of White's gritty blues and Jones' soulful singing. The album is full of cinematic instrumentals, with a few spotlight moments for the headliners. Without the vocal parts, it could easily pass as a hidden gem from nearly 50 years ago. It includes songs like 'The Rose With the Broken Neck', 'Season's Trees', 'Black', and 'The World', with a total of fifteen tracks. Released by Third Man Records with a download code. Comes with a black vinyl pressing, a printed insert, and a digital download. Originally released in 2015, and re - issued by Third Man Records in 2022. Reviewed by Le Haim in 10/2015.
