Description

In 2009, 'Mother Is The Milky Way' was released as a tour - only CD to support Broadcast's collaborative album with the Focus Group. It holds retrospective significance as Broadcast's true final release before Trish Keenan's passing in 2011. This album features some of Broadcast's warmest and most personal group recordings. Trish Keenan, known for her dreamy vocals in Broadcast, was part of the folk - leaning Hayward Winters before working with James Cargill. This background explains how Broadcast smoothly transitioned to sample - heavy psych folk for this album. The EP starts with 'In Here The World Begins', a song that's close to a typical Broadcast track. 'Elegant Elephant' showcases the project's goal, creating a pastoral folk song in a unique, almost beast - like soundscape, soothed by Keenan's voice. The album combines song sketches, trippy field recordings, woodwind interludes, and excited chatter with Keenan's singing, giving it a psychedelic, Alice in Wonderland - esque charm. It can be seen as a bittersweet tribute to Keenan's life. This is a black vinyl pressing, available on vinyl for the first time. It includes a printed insert and a digital download. Originally released in 2009, it's brought to you by Warp Records in 2022. Also available are 'Broadcast: Maida Vale Sessions Vinyl 2LP' and 'Broadcast: Microtronics - Volumes 1+2 Vinyl LP'.

Using this vinyl LP is easy. Just place it on your turntable and gently drop the needle to start enjoying the music. When handling the vinyl, make sure your hands are clean to avoid leaving fingerprints or dirt on it. After each use, carefully place the record back in its sleeve to protect it from scratches. Store the vinyl in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat to prevent warping. If you want to download the digital version, follow the instructions included in the printed insert. Enjoy this final release from Broadcast's core duo of Trish Keenan and James Cargill!
