Description

Originally a traditional Bossa Nova performer and songwriter, in the early 70s, Marcos Valle started exploring new sounds, drawing inspiration from American rock, soul, and folk. Light In The Attic, famous for its vast collection of long - lost gems, curated a four - part series, hand - picking Valle's most adventurous recordings from his vaults. In 1971, Valle and a group of like - minded hippies rented a beach shack to make music and soul - search. His aim was to change the sound he helped create and head in a new direction. Vento Sul combines elements of Ziggy era Bowie (without the glam) and Veloso's Tropicalia movement. The album comes with in - depth liner notes by San Francisco - based writer Allen Thayer (Wax Poetics), including exclusive interview content and a song - by - song breakdown from Marcos himself. It's housed in a gatefold, 180 - gram wax LP with original art on an old - school “tip - on” jacket. Highly recommended. Music label: Light In The Attic 2013. Reviewed by fogo de chow 2/2013.

To enjoy this album, simply place the 180 - gram LP on your turntable and start the playback. Make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition for the best sound quality. When handling the LP, hold it by the edges to avoid getting fingerprints on the surface. After each use, return the LP to its gatefold jacket to protect it from dust and scratches. Store the album in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. If you notice any dirt on the LP, use a proper record cleaning brush to gently remove it. Don't use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials on the LP as it can damage the grooves and affect the sound.
