Description

Following the success of Mordechai, the highly - praised third album by US psych - rockers Khruangbin, this Texas trio is set to shine in the well - known Late Night Tales album series. In 2013, producer and DJ Bonobo included their track 'A Calf Born in Winter' in his collection, launching the Houston trio into the spotlight even before they released an album. Now, they're international superstars with their own unique sound. The band says, 'We owe our presence in the Late Night Tales family to Bonobo's collection.' Khruangbin's selection of tracks in this album is a global musical adventure. It combines Asian pop, Nigerian reggae, Japanese mellow grooves, and Latina flavors. From Nazia Hassan's Hindi - disco 'Khushi' produced by Biddu to South Korean rock band Sanullim's 'Don't Go', and African bangers from Maxwell Udoh and Roha Band, the album is a diverse mix. There's also a touch of Belarusian music and a Spanish vocal performance from Paloma San Basilio. Back in Texas, David Marez and Kelly Doyle contribute, and the band offers an exclusive version of Kool & The Gang's 'Summer Madness'. The album concludes with a spoken - word piece by Tierney Malone, accompanied by Geoffrey Muller's banjo rendition of Erik Satie's 'Gnossienne'. This release comes as a 180g black double vinyl pressing (note: actual color and packaging may vary). It includes a full - color art print and a digital download. The music is under the Late Night Tales label in 2020.
