After leaving the Bronx at 17, Alynda Segarra traveled across North America on freight trains. She settled in New Orleans and formed the Americana band Hurray For The Riff Raff, with her as the main singer - songwriter. 'The Navigator' is their 6th full - length album. It's a concept album centered around an alter ego, Navita, a 17 - year - old Puerto Rican girl in 'The City'. The 12 - track album tells BX stories and calls for action.
