Psychic 9 - 5 Club is HTRK's first duo - recorded album after the passing of founding member Sean Stewart. This Melbourne group's early releases on Blast First and Fire hint at their unique sound: textured post - punk guitars, dubby basslines, and skittering drums. This record is their most melancholic one, with a foreboding low - end rumble and haunting vocals by Jonnine Standish. Tracks like “Blue Sunshine” have a soft snare hiss, and “Chinatown Style” has an earthy, musique concrete feel. Mastered for vinyl by Rashad Becker at D&M Berlin.
