Formerly known as Esprit ¿ÕÏë and Mirror Kisses, Clanton discards pitched - down funk and draws from the aesthetics of TRL - era bands like Third Eye Blind and Tonic. He also takes inspiration from the Stone Roses' breakbeats and Boards Of Canada's detuned warble, and dives into college - era sounds with a touch of American Football. Harsh noise, breakbeats, indie guitars, analog brass, and Clanton's yearning vocals blend seamlessly, similar to the new Yves Tumor record.
