Description

The music on this record was created in collaboration with painter Anna Liber Lewis. Four Tet and Anna have known each other for almost their whole lives, growing up in London with overlapping social circles and shared teenage music experiences. The months - long collaboration involved working in tandem through conversation and correspondence. Four Tet made music, and Anna responded with drawings and paintings, except for the last track, which he made after seeing her work. This was performed and exhibited at the Muscle Memory show at the Elephant West gallery in London in early 2019. Anna Painting is a new EP from Four Tet, featuring some of his most intense club compositions. The title track starts with sub - bass rumble, chirpy drum machines, and skittering snares, then fades to an almost ambient coda similar to contemporary textural electronic music like OPN and Kelly Moran's prepared piano. 'Lahaina Noon' begins with congas emerging from delicate birdsong, followed by swirling touch - tone keyboard fills and moody chords leading to a murmuring kick drum and jagged synth lines. 'Breath' has Kieran in a Vangelis - like mode, with sweeping synths that fade to silence. It comes in a picture sleeve and is pressed on standard black vinyl. This is a limited - edition release from Text Records in 2019.

Using this vinyl is easy. Just put it on your record player and enjoy the amazing music. When handling the vinyl, make sure your hands are clean to avoid getting dirt on it. Store it in a cool, dry place to prevent warping. Keep it away from direct sunlight and heat. If it gets dirty, you can use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the surface. Don't use any harsh chemicals as they might damage the vinyl. Have a great listening experience!
