For those new to Deafheaven, their third album is a great entry into the Nu Metal world (Blackgaze sounds way cooler). The opening track 'Brought To The Water' is a perfect metal crossover, with typical metal screams and chord progressions in beautiful, new - wavish melodies, just like the Peter Saville - inspired cover art. It gave me a feeling similar to my first listen of 'Turn Off The Bright Lights.' The album sticks to this theme, using breakdowns, unexpected shifts, and outtros to soften the edge. The closer is almost comical, like the band thought 'Let's put metal vocals over an indie track and see what happens.' Metal fans love this album, as expected. It's a must - have crossover. This in - stock item is an indie exclusive colored vinyl, limited to 1200 copies. It comes with an embossed jacket and a foil spine card, from the music label Anti - 2015.
