Chelsea Wolfe's sixth album, Hiss Spun, is a masterpiece. Unlike her past works that were either stripped - down folk or had electronic elements, this album gets its charm from groaning bass, pounding drums, and crunching distortion. Recorded by Kurt Ballou of Converge, it's an emotional release, helping to deal with the outside world's chaos by exploring inner unrest. Wolfe says it became very personal as she got tired of hiding and wanted to open up and create her own reality. The album features contributions from Aaron Turner of Old Man Gloom and SUMAC, and Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens of the Stone Age and Failure. This limited - edition (only 1000 copies) release comes as a cloudy red double vinyl pressing. It's an indie exclusive with a custom etching on side D, housed in a gatefold jacket with printed inner sleeves. A digital download is also included. Originally released in 2017, it's now from Sargent House in 2024. Also available: Chelsea Wolfe's Birth Of Violence - Indie Exclusive Colored Vinyl LP.
