Bonobo made a name in the downtempo genre with two great albums on Tru Thoughts and Ninja Tune. His sound isn't trendy but is among the best instrumental/downtempo music in recent years. For this album, he collaborated with singer Bajka on 4 tracks. Her style, influenced by Billie Holliday and Portishead, is understated. Bonobo skillfully balances her vocals with instrumental parts, as heard on 'Days To Come' and 'Between The Lines'. 'If You Stayed Over' with Fink might be the highlight. The instrumentals, like 'Transmission 94' and 'Recurring', are epic. 'On Your Marks' offers a contrast to the mellow tracks like 'Fever'. With 12 tracks, it's perfect for tasks like laundry.
