Originally released in 1961 by Riverside Records, Explorations is one of Evans' favorite recordings from that period. It won the Billboard Jazz Critics award for the best piano LP of 1961, making it a hit among listeners. The trio performs fresh versions of jazz standards like 'How Deep Is The Ocean' and 'Beautiful Love,' along with lovely tracks like 'Elsa' and 'Nardis.'
