Capacity is the second album by Big Thief, recorded in snowy upstate New York with frequent collaborator Andrew Sarlo. The tracks were first played and recorded on the same day, giving them a raw and immediate feel. Led by lead guitarist and vocalist Adrianne Lenker, the band has great sonic chemistry with Buck Meek (guitar), Max Oleartchik (bass), and James Krivchenia (drums). Lenker says the album explores self - acceptance, different from Masterpiece. 'Pretty Things' features Lenker's drawl over acoustic guitar, 'Shark Smile' starts with energetic drums and guitar, and 'Mythological Beauty' has jaunty drums and Lenker's vocals. This limited - edition album is newly repressed on unique 'eco - mix' colored vinyl by 4AD. The 'eco - mix' vinyl is made from leftover wax, so each copy looks different.
