The long - awaited third studio album from Brooklyn's Beach Fossils, 'Somersault', is a masterpiece. Dustin Payseur crafts some of his best career - defining tracks on this album, his first outside Captured Tracks. He has shifted from the post - punk edge of previous works to a 1960s - inspired pop sound. The album still retains bright jangle - pop elements, but with added instrumentation like strings and piano. It's Beach Fossils' most well - developed album yet.
