Automatic came together naturally when Izzy Glaudini, Lola Dompe, and Halle Saxon met in LA's DIY scene. They ditched guitars early on to avoid the 'masculine energy and dull rock on the radio' and chose synthesizers. 'Signal' is their debut album. It features dub reggae, motorik rhythms, and refined synth work. The trio's dark, haunting take on post punk and synth pop powers the 11 - track album. With simple lyrics, the vocals add great melodies to the minimal instrumentals. Check out tracks like 'Signal', 'Suicide in Texas', 'Too Much Money', and 'Humanoid'. Ideal for fans of Neu!, Suicide, and David Lynch soundtracks. This is a black vinyl pressing with a printed insert, released by Stones Throw in 2019. Reviewed by singing in japanese in 10/2019.
