This hand - animated series ran on Cartoon Network for 8 years, created by the talented Pendleton Ward, who also did the opening theme. The original, raw theme with ambient typing noises stuck because nothing could beat it, showing the show's unfiltered creativity. This box set is a music treasure, collecting over 230 songs from the series. The cast, including Jeremy Shada, John Dimaggio, Tom Kenny, and Olivia Olson, perform, and there are great guest appearances from Biz Markie, Andy Samberg, Al Yankovic, Donald Glover, Open Mike Eagle, and Willow Smith. Tracks like “Bacon Pancakes”, “Island Song”, and “Everything Stays” are included, along with lots of background music that blends chiptunes, J - Pop, beatboxing, and more in amazing ways. Composers James Basichis and Tim Kiefer worked closely with Ward and the storyboard artists to bring the lyrics and wacky plots to life. It's all collected on three 12” heavy - weight color vinyl LPs, one 10” record, a CD, and a cassette with 21 demo recordings. The box and inner sleeves have beautiful artwork by JJ Harrison.
