Deadstock alert! We've unearthed a few copies of the 1977 repress of Marlena Shaw's amazing 'The Spice Of Life' LP. This record features her most popular hit, a brilliant cover of Ashford & Simpsons 'California Soul,' sampled by Primo, DJ Shadow, and Madlib. It's worth the price alone! But there's more. With arrangements and production by Richard Evans and Charles Stepney, the album is full of funky beats and Shaw's soulful vocals. Start with 'Woman Of The Ghetto' and then enjoy 'Liberation Conversation.' You'll realize you know more of Shaw's music than you thought. These deadstock represses won't last long, so grab yours now! Music label: Cadet Records 1977. Reviewed by Michu Meszaros 10/2013.

To enjoy this Marlena Shaw LP, simply place it on your record player. Make sure the player is set to the correct speed (usually 33 1/3 RPM). When handling the LP, hold it by the edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches. After each use, return it to its sleeve to protect it from dust and damage. Store the LP in a cool, dry place, standing upright to prevent warping. Don't expose it to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. If the LP gets dirty, use a record cleaning brush to gently remove dust. Enjoy the soulful and funky tunes of Marlena Shaw!
