Repressed! This is hands - down the best King Tubby compilation ever. Many compilations feature the same songs and versions, but they can't hold a candle to this one. The album kicks off with a superb version of Eric Donaldson's 'Cherry Oh Baby,' boasting perfect vocal overdubbing and timing. 'Dub On The Street Again' is a gem for double drum head enthusiasts, capturing the true essence of dub. The liner notes claim all tracks are unreleased, resurrected from 'the vault.' Unlike typical claims, this album is pure gold, making us wonder if it's too good to be true. Check out the great intro and wacky dub instrumentation in 'Let's Do The Dub,' and the amazing breaks in 'Dub Confession.' It's an outstanding collection on extra - grade vinyl. Recommended! Features black vinyl pressing, originally released in 2001 under the Jamaican Recordings 2024 label. Reviewed by the mgmnt in 12/2001.
