This is an amazing album! There's so much depth that it'll captivate you before you know it. Musically rich and lyrically dense, Kate Bush offers a lot to savor on just two sides of the record. The first side spawned four singles, led by the timeless 'Running Up That Hill'. The B side is a concept album about a person adrift at sea at night. 'Running Up That Hill' alone is a masterpiece, with a beautiful composition starting from the opening synth pad and tom - tom pattern. As it progresses, Bush explores the idea that men and women need to switch roles to understand each other. She layers sounds until the song reaches its peak. The title track equates falling in love to being chased by dogs. 'Cloudbusting' is truly astonishing, delving into the relationship between Wilhelm Reich and his son Peter. The subject matter makes you eager to learn more about Reich's life, and the music is a perfect fit. On the second side, Bush's production is broader and more experimental, creating an alluring blend of sadness and calm. Hounds Of Love is one of the greatest albums of the 1980s. This limited - edition 180g black vinyl is remastered by Bernie Grundman, with full - color spot varnish on the front of the sleeve and a printed inner sleeve with all album lyrics.
