If you're looking for proof that James Brown is a genius, this album is it. Known as the Godfather of funk, JB shows he can rock out too. This is a unique rock record, filled with funk and all the complex changes JB is famous for. It's the way rock should be, a style no ordinary rocker could achieve. JB teams up with CTI - famous producer David Matthews to create an album that ranks high in experimentation, similar to 'Damn Right'. The sound shifts seamlessly from rock to funk. Check out 'Can Mind', a seriously funky track sampled by Brand Nubians on 'All For One'. You'll find similar breakdowns in 'You Mother You, Sho is Funky Down Here, and Bob Scoward'. Don't miss the straight - up rock moments either. 'Just Enough Room For Storage' is a hard - hitting electric guitar track like Jimi's sound. A Tribe Called Quest even lifted a hook from it.
