Cherry Jam transports you to 60s Copenhagen, a key hub for jazz development. Don Cherry was highly active there, performing with Archie Shepp in 1963, touring with Albert Ayler in 1964, and having a residency at Cafe Montmartre in 1966. Our recording comes from a 1965 radio - broadcast original tape by Denmark's national radio. In 1965, Cherry also recorded his famous Blue Note album, Complete Communion. This particular recording features a unique line - up of Danish musicians and three previously unheard original Don Cherry compositions. These four pieces showcase Cherry's evolution from a key sideman in New York's avant - garde jazz to a group leader and world traveller. His open - mindedness and boundary - breaking spirit influenced future musicians in jazz and world music. It's a 1965 Copenhagen studio recording for Denmark National Radio, an unreleased session. Pressed on 180g black vinyl, it's an indie - exclusive Japan import with an obi strip and a printed insert. The music features Don Cherry on cornet, Mogens Bollerup on t. sax, Atli Björn on p, Benny Nielsen on b, and Simon Koppel on d, and is released by Gearbox Records in 2021.

To enjoy this Don Cherry vinyl LP, simply place it on your turntable and gently drop the needle on the record. Make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition for the best sound quality. When handling the vinyl, hold it by the edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches. After each use, store the LP in its sleeve and keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This will help preserve the sound quality and the physical condition of the record. The obi strip and printed insert are nice collectibles, so handle them carefully too. Don't bend or crease them. And remember, this is a special indie - exclusive Japan import, so take good care of it to enjoy it for a long time.
