Description

Discover an amazing collection of 1970s French electronic music. After the innovative era of Pierre Henry and Pierre Schaeffer at the GRM, French musicians combined pop, disco, and rock with avant - garde concepts. Their achievements were often overshadowed by German and American counterparts. Fortunately, 'A Voyage Across French Cosmic & Electronic Avantgarde (1970 - 1980)' highlights the work of France's experimental pop musicians. The selection features well - known artists like Serge Gainsbourg, Jean - Michel Jarre, disco stars Cerrone and Patrick Juvet. Bernard Fevre of Black Devil Disco Club contributes the exclusive 'That Is To Be', a smooth synth - led track. Daniel Vangarde, father of Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter, is represented by DVWB's 'Aqua'. Alan Goraguer, composer of the legendary 'Fantastic Planet' soundtrack, also makes an appearance. Olivier CarriƩ has expertly hand - selected the tracks. This is not just a regular French disco compilation; it offers a taste of all things electronic France had in the era when 'futuristic' was truly the future. It's a hand - numbered limited edition double LP on clear vinyl in a gatefold jacket, with a free CD of the album. Music label: Because Music 2013. Reviewed by Se or Sue o Latino 11/2013.
