Bullwackies All Stars: Black World Vinyl LP

Experience the powerful dub reggae sounds from late 70s New York. The Wackies label was founded in the 1970s by Lloyd Barnes, also known as Bullwackie. A protege of Prince Buster, Barnes worked as an engineer at Duke Reid's Treasure Isle label before moving to The Bronx, New York in the early 70s. There, he opened Wackie's House Of Music record store and a recording studio. He went on to produce for big names like Horace Andy, Sugar Minott, Junior Byles, and Lee 'Scratch' Perry. 'Black World' was first released in 1979 on the Wackies' Hardwax imprint. Leroy Sibbles of The Heptones led the selection and played bass. It features versions of his classic 'Guiding Star' and the stylish 'This World'. 'Tribute To Studio One' reworks The Heptones' 'Gonna Fight'. Reggae hits 'Drifter' and 'Skylarking' are included, along with a dub version of Delroy Wilson's 'Rain From The Skies'. A must - have for reggae fans! Music label: Wackie's 2014.
