Bobby Hutcherson: Oblique (Tone Poet 180g) Vinyl LP

Oblique is a remarkable album by the great vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson. It's one of only two quartet sessions he recorded for Blue Note, the other being the classic Happenings. Both albums star the legendary pianist Herbie Hancock and drum master Joe Chambers, with bassist Albert Stinson in this lineup. Highlights include Hutcherson's breezy 'Til Then, Hancock's amazing Theme From Blow Up, and Chambers' adventurous Oblique. This 1967 recording wasn't released until 1979. It comes on 180g black vinyl, housed in a glossy tip - on gatefold sleeve with a printed insert. Part of Blue Note's Tone Poet 180g audiophile remaster series, it's cut from the original tapes.
