Staying true to their dream pop roots, this album has a more assertive sound compared to their previous works. It's not Pantera - level aggression; think of it as pastel punk. Singer Dustin Payseur still belts out sweet melodies, but there's a gritty undertone, as if he's working through inner emotions. One standout track is 'In Vertigo', featuring Kazu Makino from Blonde Redhead. This track offers a nice contrast to the album's generally peppy tone, bringing in deeper emotions.
