The third studio album from the Baltimore band Animal Collective, 'Feels' is a mind - bending musical journey. I first encountered it at Urban Outfitters, where it was on heavy rotation, and I initially disliked it. But years later, I couldn't stop listening. The album opener 'Did You See The Words' is a masterpiece. If you're new to Animal Collective, it's hard to describe their sound - it's like the Beach Boys on acid meeting Captain Beefheart on Xanax. It's a trippy and amazing experience. I recommend starting with 'Feels', then moving on to 'Strawberry Jam' and 'Merriweather Post Pavilion'. This release comes as a black double vinyl pressing with a digital download. It's from the Domino label in 2021.
