Altin Gün is a psyche - garage rock band that fuses the influence of Turkish folk songs with garage riffs and funk licks. 'On' is their debut album, following in the footsteps of 70's Turkish musicians like Baris Manco, Selda Bacan, and Erkin Koray. They blend traditional Turkish music with 70's rock sounds, creating a danceable and historically rich music. The band takes inspiration from Neşet Ertaş, a Turkish folk legend. Altin Gün retains the themes and lyrics of traditional songs but reinterprets them in a freakier, fuzzier way. The music is powerful and universal, even if you don't understand Turkish. Tracks like 'Kirsehirin Gulleri' feature raw Saz riffs, reverberating vocals, and throbbing bass. This limited - edition album is pressed on turquoise and blue swirl vinyl. It comes with a digital download and is released by ATO Records in 2018. Reviewed by THE KERRANG BIN in 1/2020.
