Adrianne Lenker started writing songs at 10. In the past 3 years, her story with Big Thief has been well - covered. Due to constant touring and studio work, she's been extremely productive. Ignoring standard album cycles, Lenker aimed to document a special time. After 2 + years on the road with Big Thief, she felt a strong urge to capture this period intimately. 'I want to archive songs in their original forms every few years,' she said. Her first solo record was Hours Were the Birds at 21 in New York. Now, five years later, she's evolving. The songs in this collection are the most vibrant ones, not castaways. Some appeared differently later, like on Big Thief's U.F.O.F LP. Intuition connects them, making it a record of a time. This is her sophomore solo album on black vinyl, with a printed lyric insert and a digital download. It's from the music label Saddle Creek in 2018.
