How can you review one of the most influential, essential, and enjoyable records ever? I won't try to convince non - believers by listing the many classic recordings or big - name artists influenced by it. Words can't truly capture the magic of this music. In the early '80s, this concept album about 'computers' with its mysterious German tech - aesthetic was incredibly futuristic. The iconic design can't hide the deep soul in the music. The shift from 'Numbers' to 'Computer World 2' is as emotional as a blues riff, and the basslines in 'Home Computer' and 'More Fun to Compute' are awesome. 'Pocket Calculator' is an anthem in Japan (as 'Dentaku'). 'Computer Love' will move you to tears, and 'Computer World' will make you laugh.
