So smooth! NYC's Arcane label teams up with L.A.'s Jamma Dee for their second release, and it's a real charmer. Drawing inspiration from late 80s/early 90s R&B and New Jack Swing, Jamma Dee Vol. 1 brings funk to a new level of sexy sophistication. Tracks like 'I Can Do Right' evoke the style of boogie crooners like Surface, while 'Cloudy Night' features beautiful piano solos. 'Got It Goin' On' and 'L.U.V. Cra-Zee' pay homage to Teddy Riley. The EP also includes the laid - back funk of 'Your Love' and the jazzy 'Gud Ol Luv.' It comes with a printed tracklist featuring Jamma Dee's own artwork. Highly recommended. Music label: Arcane 2016.
