Fresh, raw, and tender, Hayley Heynderickx's debut LP, I Need To Start A Garden, is a garden of acoustic wonders. After a series of digital singles and a collaborative EP with Max García Conover, this album showcases her unique voice, often compared to Angel Olsen and Alela Diane. The opening track, 'No Face', starts as a minimalist nod to a Miyazaki film and unfolds in a harrowing way. 'The Bug Collector' is a standout, with lyrics full of delicate analogies over finger - picked guitar, moody brass, and ethereal backing vocals. 'Worth It' offers 8 minutes of exciting acoustic and electric guitar interplay. 'Show You A Body' features anxious piano and mantra - like lyrics with an eerie feel. This Turntable Lab exclusive comes in a multicolor marble variant with a printed inner sleeve. It's a limited edition of 300, released by Mama Bird Recording Co in 2019 under TTL Editions 020.
