Essential mid-90s lo-fi indie rock! Guided By Voices almost quit when their seventh album, Bee Thousand, gained them a new fan base. Thanks to its success, they signed with Matador Records, getting a large advance. Then they went back to the garage and multi - track cassette recorders to create Alien Lanes. This album shows the band more focused with a slightly cleaner sound. It's full of catchy moments, with power pop hidden in tape hiss and relatable lyrics alongside esoteric parts. With 28 songs, there are many gems. Start with 'As We Go Up, We Go Down', 'Game Of Pricks' and 'Motor Away'. It's a great album for quality listening. This is a limited 25th anniversary edition with multicolored vinyl, a gatefold sleeve, and the music label is Matador 2020.

To enjoy this Guided By Voices vinyl record, first, make sure your record player is clean and in good working condition. Gently remove the vinyl from the gatefold sleeve, holding it by the edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches. Place it on the turntable, set the tonearm at the beginning of the record, and start playing. When you're done, carefully lift the tonearm and return it to its rest. Then, put the vinyl back in the sleeve and store it upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid touching the playing surface of the vinyl with dirty hands. Clean the vinyl occasionally with a soft, anti - static brush to keep the sound quality at its best.
