Divino Niño is an indie rock group from Chicago. Their music is charmingly soulful, meditative, and psychedelic, sometimes bilingual. Guitarist Camilo Medina and bassist Javier Forero met in Bogota, Colombia, as kids and reconnected in Miami. At the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, they joined with guitarist Guillermo Rodriguez and drummer Pierce Codina to form the quartet. The opening track 'Foam' features classic Chic - style guitar, quirky keyboard touches, and wistful lyrics. 'Queiro' has dizzy flanged guitars and reverberating keyboard vamps, while 'Flamingo' offers tinker - toy drums and hazy keyboard melodies. The album ends with the restrained psychedelia of 'Cosmic Flower', with megaphone vocals and a blurry keyboard at the edges. The album artwork, designed by Camilo, gives a fresh take on the style of Keith Rankin and Robert Beatty. This limited - edition record is pressed on transparent orange vinyl and comes with a printed inner sleeve with photos and lyrics. It also includes a digital download. Music label: Winspear 2019.
