Most demos don't make it because they're just not good. But that's not the case for the songs on Deftones' 'B-Sides & Rarities'. This 2005 compilation features rare tracks not on 'Adrenaline', 'Around the Fur', 'White Pony', and 'Deftones'. It also has alternate, stripped - down versions of big songs like 'Change (In the House of Flies)', 'Digital Bath', and 'Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)'. There are cover versions of Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Simple Man', Duran Duran's 'The Chauffeur', The Smiths' 'Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want', and Sade's 'No Ordinary Love'. These covers show the band's musical influences. The vinyl comes in a black double - vinyl pressing with remastered audio. Side D has custom etching, and it's housed in a gatefold sleeve with a printed insert. Originally released in 2005, it's now on Reprise Records in 2024. Reviewed by Donut Savage in 06/2016.

Using this Deftones vinyl is easy. Just place it on your turntable, gently drop the needle on the groove, and enjoy the music. When handling the vinyl, make sure your hands are clean to avoid getting fingerprints on it. Keep the vinyl away from direct sunlight and heat, as these can warp it. After each use, put the vinyl back in its sleeve carefully to prevent scratches. If you notice any dust on the vinyl, use a soft, anti - static brush to clean it. This will help maintain the sound quality of the remastered audio. And remember, the gatefold sleeve and printed insert are part of the charm, so handle them with care too.
