Dan Snaith's fourth psychedelic album,
Andorra. While Caribou has focused on house music in the past decade, the first two official records,
The Milk of Human Kindness and
Andorra, blend folktronica and neo - psychedelia. On this Merge debut, Snaith's singing and songwriting shine, inspired by
The Zombies and
The Free Design. Although he sang on every track in 2020's
Suddenly,
Andorra is where his voice takes center stage. The album opener, “Melody Day,” with flutes, crashing drums, and overdriven guitars, inspired
Tame Impala's Kevin Parker. “Desiree” is a lament for a fading love over orchestral arrangements, and “Sundialing” ventures into krautrock. “Niobe,” the most electronic track, foreshadows the sonic shift in
Swim. It comes on 180g black vinyl with 9 tracks, a gatefold sleeve, a digital download, and is from Merge Records (2007). Reviewed by SHH! in 08/2021.

To enjoy this Caribou vinyl LP, first, carefully remove it from the gatefold sleeve. Make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition. Gently place the 180g vinyl on the turntable and lower the tonearm to start playing. After use, put the vinyl back in the sleeve to protect it from dust and scratches. Store it in a cool, dry place, standing upright to prevent warping. You can also download the digital version to listen on your mobile devices or computers for on - the - go enjoyment.
