Strut proudly presents the very first compilation that gathers classics and rarities from the legendary spiritual jazz and conscious soul label, Black Fire, spanning the years 1975 to 1993. Founded by DJ and record - producer Jimmy Gray in Richmond, Virginia, Black Fire followed in the footsteps of influential black - owned independent labels. Saxophonist James 'Plunky' Branch's return to the city led to the formation of Oneness Of Juju. Their 1975 album, African Rhythms, masterfully blended jazz, African polyrhythms, and empowering lyrics. Bassist Muzi Branch created the first hand - illustrated sleeve for the label. This compilation, Soul Love Now, features some of the label's best. Wayne Davis offers the explosive gospel rare groove 'Look At The People', and Plunky's JuJu and Oneness Of Juju contribute three tracks, including an unreleased version of 'African Rhythms'. The release comes with extended sleeve notes and interviews with featured musicians. It's a black double - vinyl pressing with printed inner sleeves, an 8 - page booklet with rare photos, and liner notes by Plunky Branch. Music label: Strut 2020.

To use this vinyl record, first, make sure your record player is clean and in good working condition. Place the record gently on the turntable and use the tonearm to lower the needle onto the lead - in groove. Sit back and enjoy the amazing spiritual jazz and soul music. When you're done, lift the tonearm carefully and place it back in its rest. Store the record in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent warping. Handle the record by its edges to avoid getting fingerprints on the playing surface, which can affect the sound quality. If the record gets dirty, use a record cleaning brush to gently remove dust.
