Description

Recorded in 1970 at the Coltrane family home's basement studio in Dix Hills, Alice Coltrane's fourth album is a spiritual jazz masterpiece. The title track pays tribute to the Egyptian God Ptah. Many parts of the album reach what Coltrane called Turiya, a state like Nirvana. This Verve By Request edition features 180 - gram black vinyl pressed at Third Man in Detroit. It's back on vinyl for the first time since 1974, comes in a gatefold sleeve with liner notes, and features great musicians like Alice Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, Joe Henderson, Ron Carter, and Ben Riley. Originally released in 1970, it's now re - issued by Impulse! in 2022. Also available is Alice Coltrane's Journey In Satchidananda on 180g vinyl from Acoustic Sounds.

To enjoy this vinyl LP, first, make sure your turntable is clean and in good working condition. Gently place the record on the turntable and set the tonearm on the starting groove. As you listen, soak in the beautiful spiritual jazz music. When you're done, lift the tonearm carefully and remove the record from the turntable. To keep it in great shape, always handle the record by the edges to avoid fingerprints. Store it in a cool, dry place, and keep it in its gatefold sleeve when not in use. This will help protect the vinyl from scratches and damage, so you can enjoy this amazing album for years to come.
